January 2009 until now
Information Systems Manager for the University Medical Assessment Parthnership (UMAP). My role is to develop and maintain new information systems to support the UMAP team's operations. We are currently redesigning our processes and systems, and developing a new system in collaboration with epiGenesys, an agile software development company from Sheffield. We are following a behaviour-driven (and test-driven), agile development approach. The technologies used are Merb, Mongodb, and probably JQuery.
September 2008 to December 2008
Design Manager for de Poel Consulting. This role involved the design of de Poel systems on the basis of an iterative, feature-driven, user-centred approach, as well as requirement elicitation and interface design. I was also responsible for the implementation of most of the user interfaces, using a mix of technologies such as Zend Framework, JQuery and Ajax.
October 2006 to September 2008
Project Manager & Developer of a large web-based timesheet management system for de Poel Consulting. e-tips v2 is a system currently processing in excess of £200 million of temporary agency labour spend p.a. for some of the largest companies using temporary labour in the UK. Internship at HITLabNZ (Christchurch, New Zealand) and Intranel Ltd. (Christchurch).
The work performed during this internship consisted on the design of VideoScribe R2, a Video Capture & Analysis software tool, in the framework of a user-centred design methodology.
October 2005 to February 2006
Web Designer position at Business first, Lancaster, United Kingdom. The work performed for this company mostly consisted on graphic design, as well as PHP and CSS programming.
October 2004 to March 2005
Web Developer position at Mavada Web Design, Chester, United Kingdom. The work performed for this company mostly consisted on flash animation and graphic design, and has allowed me to greatly improve my graphical skills.
February 2004 to June 2004
Undertook as a freelance collaboration with 13 Strides Creative, the work on www.thetristore.com, an online store for triathletes consisted on database design, e−commerce and community engine and dynamic integration, as well as the development of a complete backoffice solution for the website content, including catalog, users, forums and orders management.
September 2002 to June 2003
Creation of the www.land-to-buy.co.uk website, as a Final Year project for the University of Teesside (project provided through the University of Teesside Centre for Enterprise).
This dynamic website allowing its users to suscribe to a service providing a database of land to buy all around the U.K was entirely developed by myself, and allowed me to cover every aspect of website design, from the requirement elicitation, interface design and the implementation processes, to search engine optimisation and even marketing.
